Almost 2 years ago to the day Danko Jones were promoting their latest album, Fire Music, on a boat cruising between Finland and Estonia. This time around another new album, Wild Cat and a new mini-festival with even more suitable stable mates – Backyard Babies and Hardcore Superstar.

The Journey – Danko Jones Road Trip

February 2017 saw Danko Jones play 2 gigs in, the middle of nowhere, Finland. As part of the the #talvifestivaali, in Kuopio and Joensuu, Danko Jones & co headlined a 5 band event over 2 nights and we were there to see it all *.

My Top 3 Albums of 2016

In what has been a somewhat eclectic year for me for music selecting my top 3 albums should not be too hard. Since Last FM really fucked up their service last year though, I cannot show what my most played tracks or albums are.

However, my top LPs are mostly by female-fronted bands and my tastes don’t appear to have wavered much since last year.

I found few gigs of any worth to go to and although there have been some great individual gigs, there really hasn’t been too much to write about – thus the relative inactivity of the blog this year. The Greatest Show on Earth – II

I thought it would be hard for Nightwish to top their Ratina gig last year supporting their “Endless Forms Most Beautiful” album but again this was a overwhelming experience. I cannot give these guys enough credit for what was a fantastic performance and show.
