A slight play on song titles but listening, again, to Delain’s April Rain back to back with Santa Cruz’s Can You Feel The Rain sparked a few emotions.
With the exception of the quite magnificent Danko Jones on the 7th, October was more about the bands that I did not see than the ones that I did.
Around 8 months since seeing Danko Jones perform live on the boat to Tallinn, it was time to see them play one of the most nostalgic venues in Finland: Tavastia.
We bought tickets months in advance for this show, and there was a sizeable audience to see them play. Especially, as Danko pointed out, for a Wednesday night.
After seeing Europe headline South Park Festival last year anticipation was high for a more intimate gig at The Circus in downtown Helsinki at the end of September.
Needless to say, this was a great gig by a tremendous live band. Promoting their latest release, “War of Kings”, they played 6 tracks from that album but kept the old faithful happy with a good mix from their back catalogue.
I am running out of superlatives for Santa Cruz.
On September 5th I saw them perform live for the third time this year. Was this their best performance yet? Possibly not but there was enough variety in their set to make you want to go back for more.
I may have ranted a bit about the event organisation of the recent Linkin Park gig but I’ve decided to give this a fair shot and list the good things about the event as a whole.
