I saw Santa Cruz the previous night and said they played literally just stepping off a plane. Today they were the first “big” band on the second stage at Tampere South Park festival and they sounded tired.
So after 4 years since the first time we experienced Santa Cruz live and 2 albums later we return to Nosturi to see the young Finnish band warm up for the South Park festival in Tampere with an intense headline show.
I got to see another of Finland’s more popular rock bands in February. Von Hertzen Brothers played at Tavastia promoting their new album.
As an early, and surprise, birthday party our daughter was taken to be part of Katy Perry’s first concert in Finland. Not expecting much, other than a very excited young girl, I was pleasantly delighted by the show.
Having been lucky enough to meet Reckless Love at their last show in Tavastia we made an educated guess that H.E.A.T would appear after their show in the bar area to meet and greet their fans.
We weren’t wrong and they proved to be pretty solid guys too. Here are some post gig snaps.
I’ve been looking forward to this gig for months. H.E.A.T are right up there with my favourite bands. Such energy and enthusiasm on stage – these guys are a real must see live band.
Since I found out they were coming to Finland on the 12th of December and buying tickets the next day, I anticipated an energetic and fun gig. It was brilliant..
Following a great performance by Amaranthe it was time for the headliners.
After hearing their warm-up a few hours earlier I could barely wait for Danko Jones to kick off . I was anticipating “Wild Woman”. I was blown away.
Unreal. What a great start to the year, supporting band on the Radio Rock Cruise was Amaranthe.
They’re a band that I have been fortunate enough to see back in Tuska Festival in 2013 and hopefully see them again in a couple of weeks.
In September I got to see Reckless Love yet again. This is the second time this year and they never disappoint. You know exactly what you are going to get and they always deliver.
So after months of anticipation the night finally arrived and Lenny Kravitz flew away from the US to the shores of an autumnal Finland. To be honest I was not a big a fan. I find his musical quite suicide inducing at times.
Live though – Wow!!
