• Phil Neville says her absence is disappointing
Jordan Nobbs is ruled out of the World Cup next year after undergoing surgery on her left knee.
The Arsenal midfielder ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament during a Women’s Super League victory over Everton in November. Nobbs had a successful operation on Monday but it was confirmed she will not recover in time to be available for the England squad for the tournament starting in France next June.
