Last night I saw Reckless Love for the third time this year. Went along with Colin, with whom I go to most concerts of this nature, and a Reckless Love Virgin, Deano.
Nosturi was the venue and there was actually a pretty decent crowd. Are they finally going to make it? The crowd at the front contained mostly what sounded like school girls. There were some guys in the audience, but I guess we must have been close to the oldest there.
This year has been a cracker of year for live music for me. I’ve had one of the best festivals ever in Shout it Out Loud and my favourite performance of all time with the incredible Tesla… There was maybe the best “show” when P!nk came to town and Muse made amends for a lackluster performance in Malaysia a few year back.
Jettblack were probably the least surprising of all the bands. No real prior knowledge of them, and they sounded how I imagined they would – apart from their accents. They were good none the less.
HEAT sounded as if they could have been magic. We were hangin’ in the VIP area with BlackRain at the time *. If we had gone into the crowd I bet it would have been awesome. Funnily enough they had played in Finland a few weeks prior @on the rocks. I would definitely go and see them again.
The Sonisphere Festival is a touring music festival which takes place across Europe between June and August. It first started as far as I am aware in 2009 and in Finland it was located in Pori – home of the jazz festival. It was fast becoming a tradition to make an adventure out of the festival and spend some time around the area: and take in a few bars of course.
This has been some year for music for me. It all started with the discovery of the Reckless Love. They are a glam rock band that sound as if they are stuck in 1989 – but they are absolutely fantastic at what they do. Normally bands sound like one band that they are trying to “copy” – Reckless Love sound like many: Def Leppard, Poison, Motley Crue, Dokken – you name it!!
