At Last Scrobbling Comes to Windows Phone

Finally the people at Spotify have to add probably one of the easiest, yet annoying, features to their Windows Phone version of their music client: Last FM integration.

Whilst this doesn’t bring the app up to the levels of the other platforms it at least gives me one of the major missing features that has had me swaying between paid subscription and free (or no usage).

I tried iOS… and regretted it too. Here’s 5 reasons why

A buddy, and former work colleague, of mine posted a link recently on Facebook about this guy that bought an iPhone after years on Android … and regretted it immediately.

ATV – how it is today

I still get quite a bit of traffic (relatively) to old posts about Apple TV running XBMC. Today I thought I’d shed some light on my current setup around the house. To be honest the hardware hasn’t changed much but the software has.

All media that I have in digital format are still served from my old Mac mini. Primarily since my music and video files are iTunes compatible. This is the first major talking point since my last posts on the subject.

Busy weekend in Geekland

Been quite a hectic time in my geek world this weekend. I’ve been trying to rejuvenate my kids laptops, shifted a web site, almost created an infinite loop of autoposting, bought  some Xbox gear, blogged a bit and even had some phone geeking too.

Sophie has an 8 year old laptop, and Frankie’s is about 5 years old. I managed to get Linux Mint installed on Sophie’s then opted to “downgrade” to Lubuntu. After a few attempts I managed to get it installed and it runs quite well. Thought the same would go for Frankie’s machine.

Auto-post Loop hell

So I have been using IFTTT (If This Then That) web site for a while to automate some of my Social Media posting, for example updating my blog here when I post a link on Facebook. After a certain amount of trial and error I think that I had it set up quite nicely however I just moved my site from Posterous to WordPress and there are obviously a few differences.

Nokia: Doomed? – Forbes

This is what we are reduced to with Nokia ? discussions of break-up value and liquidity concerns. A sad, sad situation. It’s really hard to ignore this stuff and not quote Tomi Ahonen all the time :-/
