My 2017 Wrapped

So “devastating” was my musical journey in 2017 that I can at least take some solace in my listening during the year.

Danko Jones

Similar to 2015 Danko Jones head the pack as most listened to artist of the year. Having seen Danko Jones again 3 times this year, they are an brilliant act live. And the tempo of their songs is great to “work out” to..

Linkin Park

Linkin Park are second through a mini-revival pre-suicide and massive revival post tragedy. I’ve seen Linkin Park perform live a few times in my lifetime, 3 times to be precise. I said “never again” already, but now there is no chance. What a tragic loss!

Steven Wilson

A new album, which got quite mainstream attention finally, memories of a great gig in Helsinki in 2016 and tickets already bought for February 2018, this prog rocker certainly has one of my favorite albums of the year. I am sure he & his band will live up to the high expectations that Hand cannot erase as built up.

Arch Enemy

A new album, a “clean” song and a wonderful back catalog that I am now only just appreciating, I love their sound and especially their singer, Alissa.

This was yet another band that I missed this year. Hopefully 2018 will bring that opportunity again.

Lacuna Coil

This Italian rock band got an honorable mention in my top 3 albums of 2016 – this year they are fully in the list. Delirium is an album full of awesome!!!

A bit like Arch Enemy, finances prevented my from seeing one of my bucket list bands in Helsinki earlier this year.

How was your year?
